On February 28, 2017 the Alliance for Excellent Education (the Alliance) held a webinar highlighting its recently released case study on schools and districts that use the OECD Test for Schools to drive improvement efforts. A special emphasis was placed on Gwinnett County Public Schools, the largest school district in Georgia and among the fifteen largest school districts in the country.
Developed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the OECD Test for Schools is a school-level test based on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). School and district leaders who administer the assessment receive an integrated, information-rich report that identifies student performance and provides information about factors such as motivation and confidence. The Test for Schools functions like an index of the factors that matter for student success and allows educators to develop a road map for continuous change and improved student achievement.
The Allianceโs case study, โOECD Test for Schools: How Three School Systems Are Improving Student Achievement,โ profiles two school districts and one school that use the Test for Schools to monitor student academic outcomes and inform teaching practice to meet student learning needs. Todayโs webinar features a district leader from Gwinnett who will discuss that districtโs commitment to preparing students for success on a global stage.
