About All4Ed
All4Ed is a national nonprofit organization working to ensure every student has access to a high-quality, future-ready education. We focus on making education systems more equitable, more supportive, and more connected to real opportunities after high school—whether that’s college, career, or both.
What This Internship Is About
All4Ed is looking for a high school student to serve as a Virtual Youth Policy Intern supporting the new state-wide initiatives in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Arizona that will center young people’s voices in education policy.
In this role, you will help share what students experience in school and beyond—and help adults who make decisions understand what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change. You do not need prior policy experience. We are looking for curiosity, thoughtfulness, and a willingness to learn about and participate in educational policy decision making.
This internship is designed to fit alongside school and extracurriculars, with strong support and mentoring from All4Ed staff.
What You’ll Do
With guidance and support, you will:
- Help gather and share student perspectives on high school, college, career pathways, and life after graduation
- Participate in virtual conversations or listening sessions with other students
- Assist with simple research about how states support students through programs like dual enrollment, career and technical education, or advising
- Help summarize what students say into short write-ups, slides, or notes that inform policymakers
- Support virtual meetings and projects connected to South Dakota, Wyoming, and Arizona
- Learn how youth voice can influence real education policy decisions
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is for:
- High school students (grades 10–12 preferred)
- Students interested in education, policy, social justice, community leadership, or advocacy
- Students who want their experiences and ideas to help improve schools and systems
- Students who are reliable, curious, and open to learning
- Students who attend or have attended public schools (strongly encouraged)
You do not need:
- Prior policy or research experience
- Perfect grades or a long resume
- To live in South Dakota, Wyoming, or Arizona (though connections are welcome)
What You’ll Gain
- A paid, meaningful internship you can do virtually
- Experience working with a national education organization
- A clearer understanding of how education policy works at the state level
- Skills in communication, research, and leadership
- Mentorship and support from adults who value youth leadership
- Experience you can list on college, scholarship, or job applications
How to Apply
To apply, please submit:
- A short resume or a simple list of school activities and interests
- A brief statement (written, audio, or video—your choice) answering:
Why do you think student voices should matter in education decisions?
