Washington, DC — “America lost a trailblazer and role model when Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away. We send our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues. As only the second woman appointed to the highest Court, Justice Ginsburg embodied the values that make this country great: that every American is protected by the constitution, no matter who they are, who they love, or where they live. Given that we are so close to the election, we urge the Senate to wait until after the inauguration to vote on a nominee to replace Justice Ginsburg. Our country must be held together by consistency in decisions and actions. This is the time to put aside politics and honor the last wish of Justice Ginsburg—to wait for the nomination of her successor and not rush into a critical process.”
