“We are delighted that Jessica Rosenworcel has been confirmed as the chair of the Federal Communications Commission. Chair Rosenworcel is a true champion for closing the homework gap — a term she coined — and ensuring that the nearly 17 million children without home internet service don’t fall behind their more affluent classmates in school. Under her leadership as acting chair, the FCC has committed more than $10 billion to help schools, libraries, and families across the country get much-needed internet access, particularly when the pandemic shuttered schools across the country. We look forward to continuing to work with Chair Rosenworcel on closing the digital divide for students and families.”
