Gov. Bob Wise Comments on the State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Bob Wise, president of the Alliance for Excellent Education and former governor of West Virginia issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s State of the Union Address:

“With one half of the nation’s school children coming from low-income families, there is no middle-class economy without many Americans improving their economic status with improved education. President Obama’s bold community college proposal clearly links success in a middle-class economy to amount of education. Now begins the push to replace high school with community college as the new basic education requirement.”
