This digital seminar will be conducted in partnership with the Alliance for Excellent Education
2017 is a critical time for the future of education policy. Governors will partner with their state education agency, state legislature, educators, district leaders and education stakeholders to implement the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). During the first six months of next year, states will determine the direction of the nation’s education policy for the next decade.
On October 13th, the National Governors Association will host a one-day digital seminar to equip governors offices with strategies that leverage ESSA to spur innovation in districts and classrooms throughout their state. Governors’ education policy teams are encouraged to reserve the entire day to focus on ESSA.
Offices are also encouraged to invite the chairs of their legislative education committee, their state education agency, civil rights and education stakeholder groups to join them during different sessions of the webinar. We are planning for three individual sessions focused on specific partnerships between the governor and these groups.
