To navigate this, we need data: a detailed map that shows where students are thriving and where the systems are leaving them behind. This map helps us understand disparities in access, achievement, and outcomes across different communities. It’s not just about grades and graduation rates; it’s about understanding the whole student experience, from the quality of education to the relevance of curriculum in preparing students for the future.

From this comprehensive map, we can then turn to the work of both crafting policy and tailoring the systems to the learners’ needs:
