Sen. Hirono & All4Ed CEO Amy Loyd Stand Up for Students

On Dec. 16th U.S. Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI) held a spotlight forum titled, โ€œDismantling Education: What the Trump Administrationโ€™s Illegal Attacks on Federal Programs Mean for Students, Families, and Educators,โ€ highlighting the dangerous consequences of the Trump Administrationโ€™s efforts to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education (ED) for our nationโ€™s students, families, educators, and schoolsโ€”among others.

During the forum, a panel of witnesses comprised of K-12 education leaders and civil rights experts spoke about how abolishing the Department of Education and moving these programs to other federal agencies would harm students across the country, especially those who come from low-income, rural, Native, migrant, and federally-impacted communities.
