The Alliance for Excellent Education held a webinar discussion on the most important reason to celebrate Digital Learning Day on February 6, 2013: improving educational opportunities for students who are at-risk, disadvantaged, or otherwise underserved.
Students in rural and urban areas, students with socioeconomic challenges, and students who have been identified as at risk all stand to benefit from the accelerating potential that digital learning provides. Brian DeCicco explained how digital learning strategies are making a difference at a very special charter school in Washington, DC. Matt Akinspoke about why digital learning matters to rural students and Laura Breeden discussed why special needs students in particular stand to benefit from digital learning. Terri Schwartzbeck of the Alliance moderated the webinar.
