Rachel Bird Niebling
Rachel Bird Niebling joined the Alliance in April 2014 as a senior policy and advocacy associate for comprehensive high school reform. In July 2016, she became director of policy development and federal government relations. Prior to joining the Alliance, Ms. Niebling served as the education and healthcare policy advisor for U.S. Senator Christopher A. Coons (DE). Before that, she served as a legislative assistant to Senator Edward E. Kaufman (DE). Prior to her work in the Senate, Ms. Niebling was a policy analyst at the Strong American Schools’ ED in ‘08 campaign, a project to raise awareness about education issues in the 2008 presidential campaign cycle. She also served as a middle school science teacher in Philadelphia.
Ms. Niebling holds an MA degree in education policy studies from The George Washington University and a BA degree in sociology and education from the University of Florida.
