Why Arizona can’t afford to cut CTE fundingYou likely have read enough about the challenges facing Arizona’s K-12 system. As a refreshing alternative, I’d like to highlight a very bright spot in our education landscape. Career and Technical Education (CTE) gives our high school students a chance to succeed regardless of income levels, ethnicity or family background. After graduation, CTE students typically continue on to college and postsecondary programs at much higher rates than their peers before they become committed and well-trained employees. Our technical and advanced manufacturing workforce is filled with these high achievers.
