Our View: GED ‘crisis’ needs to be fixed to make Rock River Valley grow
A lot of residents in Boone and Winnebago counties do not have the education to read this editorial, and that’s a problem not just for them but for the region as a whole. For the more than 45,000 residents who lack a high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate, it means that they’ll probably never be qualified for anything more than a minimum-wage job.
