Growing graduation rate
Montana’s graduation rate for 2014-15 reached 86 percent, which is the highest it has been since the state began gathering and compiling such data in 2000. The statewide dropout rate decreased to 3.4 percent, a reduction of more than one-third since 2009. The rise in graduation rates means more Montanans are getting educated, which equates to more opportunities and higher-paying jobs. The state economy will get a $6 million annual boost from its graduates since 2009, according to an Alliance for Excellent Education report cited by Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau.
