Morning Announcements: Senators Plan to Modernize Federal Education Privacy Law

Two US Senators said this week that they plan to pursue modernization of an old federal education privacy law to address collecting student data. The New York Times

“When you look at how much is spent on technology in education as opposed to every other field, it’s minuscule,” said Karen Billings, vice president of the education division at the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), a member organization for software companies. A DC high school will be transformed into one that focuses on international relations. The school, once fully renovated, will open in the fall of 2015. The Washington Post
