CBS News on the High School Dropout Epidemic

Last Friday, May 28, 2010, CBS Evening News ran a story on the high school dropout epidemic. The story looked at the severity of the crises, the link between education and the economy, and some emerging solutions from the Philadelphia area.
To highlight the economic benefits of improving graduation rates, CBS used a statistic from the Alliance: Dropouts from the Class of 2009 cost the nation nearly $335 billion in lost wages, taxes, and productivity over their lifetimes.
