College presidents and community and business leaders convened at the White House yesterday to discuss initiatives to help low-income students go to college. The President praised the meeting and the ideas that came out of it. The New York Times
Goodwill of Central Indiana expanded their mission to include helping high school dropouts receive their diplomas. PBS Newshour

One-third of Lousiana’s schools do not have enough computers and access to high-speed Internet connections to administer assessments aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The state needs $6 million in technology upgrades to connect every school. The Times-Picayune
