Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano has been nominated to be the next president of the University of California. The school system is looking for a change and hopes the high profile candidate will help raise money. Los Angeles Times

If a rewrite of the No Child Left Behind Act reaches the House floor this week, there is sure to be debate over funding formulas, among other issues. Some advocates for rural schools, in particular, disagree with the current Title I funding formula and are looking to US Rep. Glenn Thompson (R-Pa), whose district loses out under the current formula, for help.Politics K-12
