A bill introduced in the Wisconsin legislature could make it possible for students to refinance their student loans, making them more affordable, according to a release from Representative Mark Pocan’s office (D). “Instead of relying on college graduates to bankroll Washington’s needs, the federal government should be doing all that it can to make a college education as affordable and accessible as possible,” Pocan said in the release.Channel3000.com
Oregon’s programs for students learning to speak English are falling short on all four federal benchmarks. At least 60 percent of Oregon’s English language learners are supposed to advance one level per year. Only 45 percent advanced last year. Northwest Public Radio
