    Eric Richmond will present on a panel entitled “The National Conversation on CTE”. This discussion will focus on the growing national interest in CTE, and the increasing convergence of CTE with other high school reform strategies. Other presenters featured at this session are: Stephen DeWitt, Senior Director of Public Policy, ACTE; Alisha Hyslop, Assistant Director of Public Policy, ACTE; and Greg Roth, Senior Manager, Institute for a Competitive Workforce, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

    Eric Richmond moderated a panel focusing on the role that career & technical education can play in implementing multiple education pathway strategies towards the goal of engaging youth—including those who have disconnected from education—and preparing them for successful futures. This session also featured Gregg Betheil, Senior Executive for CTE at the New York City Department of Education; and Scott Hess, Educational Program Specialist and Chief, College and Career Transitions Branch, U.S. Department of Education.

    Bob Wise, along with John Bridgeland, president & CEO of Civic Enterprises, will be Co-chairing the Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy 10th Anniversary Gala. In recognition of a decade of outstanding work educating students and closing achievement gaps in DC, Chávez is honoring this milestone with a celebration and a promise to continue its efforts to prepare our future leaders with the high-quality education they deserve.
